The NCRS Archives.

The NCRS Archives are broken down into separate pages of about 90,000 to 100,000 messages each. The reason for breaking them into groups is to give you reasonable search times, and to reduce the load on our server. Any search of 100,000 messages will take a minute or two. With a careful search of the available archives you will find information on any subject that you desire. For detailed instructions for your search please read the following FAQ.

Message Index Keyword Search

Use the form below to search for specific messages. You can search either for messages containing a certain keyword or keywords, or for messages posted by a specific individual. (All searches are based on partial-string matches and are case-insensitive.)

This is the search form that you will find on the Archive pages. Rather than list up to 80,000 messages for you to view, the search feature brings you only the messages that you want to view. The Power of the Search does require some thought on your part to hone in on your search terms. If you read the instructions below you will have the Power to find only the messages that you need. Terms for which to search:

Find: Display: hits per page
Select to search "any terms" to search for every instance that words in the search box are found. This may result in a large number of hits. Searching on "Big Block" with "any terms" will return any message with either big, Big, bigger, Biggest, or Block, block, blocks included. "Big Block" searched under the "all terms" search would only return those messages that contain Big Block or big block. "Display xx hits per page" refers to how many messages you want returned on each page. 25 is good number, there is a next page link at the bottom of the page.
