Terry Drosz

March 7, 1942
December 10, 2017
It is with great sadness that I write to inform the membership of the untimely passing of a cherished member, Terry Drosz. A longtime member of the NCRS (National Number 10057), Terry owned a total of eight Corvettes over the years and currently owned both a fully restored 1957 and a new 2017 model.

Despite having been employed by Ford Motor Company, his loyalties were always to the Bowtie clan. His passion for cars extended to the Chevrolet Tri-Five models and his latest pride and joy was a ’55 Bel Air convertible. He was a perennial volunteer the Concours of America (formerly Meadowbrook Concours d’Elegance) where he chaired the car escort activity. He was also a founding member of the Woodward Tri Five Cruisers.

Not only did Terry restore and maintain his cars, but also derived great pleasure from driving them as well. In addition to frequenting cruise- ins, club functions and car shows, he participated in some major motoring adventures. He completed the Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour “Long Haul” and the Old US 27 Motor Tour in his 1957 Corvette and just completed the National Route 66 Motor Tour (5300 miles) in October driving his 2017 Corvette. As his longtime friend and co-pilot, Jim DeRemer, so aptly put it, “Terry was a participant in life and not just a spectator”.

Terry’s passing occurred on Sunday morning, December 10, while he was wintering in Florida where he was recovering from abdominal surgery. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy, who passed on in December of 2013. He is survived by his daughter, Sheryl Paparella and her family.
