He leaves behind his loving wife and daughter, Sondra and Amy. We could not have asked for a better husband and father. He was our Superman! He had movie star good looks, and was our Mr. Fix It, our master chef and our "Daddy Doctor." No matter what was going on, good or bad, he would make it better. He was the cherry on top!
Ernie was a natural born athlete, starting out with swimming at Lakeside, and qualifying for the Junior Olympics in swimming. He also played basketball, football, and baseball. He was even recognized and complimented by coach Denny Crum while playing in a street ball game. Recently, he enjoyed running and completed many marathons.
Ernie worked for Wilcox Chevrolet and advertised and sold many Corvette parts to NCRS members around the world. When Wilcox closed Ernie continued to sell Corvette parts until his untimely death. He was well known and well liked by many NCRS members.
Ernie graduated from Clarksville High School in 1981 and attended IUS, studying math and business. He was a successful entrepreneur for over 35 years. In addition to being handsome, talented and smart, he was also very kind and so very popular -- everybody loved Ernie! He had friends from California and Maine to Australia, and he really enjoyed helping others out, from paying someone's bill at the eye doctor, to stopping to change a stranger's tire, as well as doing hour-long free tutorials on Youtube to help people fix their cars.
