Keith Martin has been involved with the collector car hobby for more than thirty years. As a writer, publisher, television commentator and enthusiast, he is constantly on the go, meeting collectors and getting involved in their activities throughout the world.

He founded the monthly Sports Car Market magazine twenty years ago, and it has developed into the authoritative informed voice of the collector car hobby. His second publication, Corvette Market magazine, launched in 2008, brings the same intellectual vigor and analysis to the Corvette marketplace as Sports Car Market does to exotics and classics.

The website for Sports Car Market, www.sportscarmarket.com contains the world’s largest and most informative database of collectible cars, with more than 40,000 cars listed with serial numbers, photos, and descriptive and valuation details. It includes a graphical display of value trends over time for any marque in the database, a unique tool for collectors.

His Keith Martin on Collecting series, published by Motorbooks International, includes books on Ferrari, Jaguar, Alfa Romeo, Porsche and English sports cars. A new addition is Keith Martin on Car Collecting, a 300-page one-stop reference book for anyone interested in collecting.

In a partnership with Road & Track, Martin has developed instant-access, downloadable “Buyer’s Guides” for more than 50 of the most popular collectible cars. These guides are available on the websites of the New York Times, Road & Track and Collector Car Traderonline, as well as Sports Car Market and Corvette Market.

Martin’s columns on collecting and reviews of exotic cars, including the Ford GT and the Bentley Continental GT, have appeared in the New York Times. He has hosted numerous television specials and was most recently featured on “Appraise My Car”, shown on Discovery HD Theater.

As a commentator, MC and judge he has been involved with Pebble Beach, Amelia Island, Meadow Brook and Concorso Italiano, among other events. He is the Chairman of the Meguiar’s Collector Car Person of the Year Award Committee, is on the Board of Trustees of the LeMay Museum and the Hagerty-founded Collectors Foundation and has served on the faculty of the Collier Museum symposium on Connoisseurship.

Martin brings an eclectic background to his passion for cars. His academic background includes the study of Intellectual History at Reed College, in Portland, Oregon, and study as a Dance Major at the Juilliard School in New York City. He founded the first professional ballet company in Oregon, Ballet Oregon, was awarded an Oregon Art’s Commission Individual Artist’s Fellowship for new choreography and was director of dance for the Portland Opera. Martin, his wife Wendie and their three teen-aged children Tyler, Alexandra and Andrew, and their son Bradley, born in May of 2007, live in Portland, Oregon.
