2018 NCRS National Road Tour Previews

Las Vegas, Nevada - Travelling in your favorite car with your friends - what could be better? Plan now to head to the Convention with a Road Tour!

The 2018 National Road Tours are now set. The road tour leaders are busy planning each leg and promise to make it a memorable ride to Las Vegas. Tenative plans, places of interest and stops are being selected. Make sure you register early and pick the tour you want to travel with. As usual, Scott and Kay have planned a great last night out celebration.

Canadian Road Tour: Led by Kay Sinclair

Starting out from Bolton, ON, on Friday, July 6: Head west from Bolton through south central Ontario, crossing into the US at Sarnia/Port Huron. On to first night in Okemos, MI. Approx. 292 miles.

Saturday July 7: From Okemos, southwest to the Gilmore Museum in Hickory Corners, MI, then south to Shipshewana, IN, to experience some Amish country and finally to South Bend, IN, tour of Studebaker Museum, second night. Approx. 175 miles.

Sunday, July 8: From South Bend, west through corn country to Peoria, IL, third night. Approx. 231 miles.

Monday, July 9: From Peoria on US-24 to Independence, MO, fourth night. Approx. 340 miles.

Tuesday, July 10th: From Independence, on to Dodge City, MO. Experience this wild west town! Approx. 360 miles.

Wednesday, July 11th: From Dodge City to Raton, NM. Approx. 285 miles.

Thursday, July 12th: From Raton via Taos and Santa Fe into Albuquerque, NM. Approx. 165 miles.

Friday, July 13th: From Albuquerque on to Winslow, AZ. Approx. 270 miles.

Saturday, July 14th: Drive west from Winslow on to Laughlin, NV for the Last Night Out party! Approx. 240 miles.

Central Pennsylvania Road Tour: Led by Gary and Andrea Dukeman

Gary and Andrea are planning on leaving Carlisle, Pa. morning of July 1 traveling to Dayton, OH.

Northwest Road Tour: Led by Mike Doty and Tammy Shirley

We are inviting any other group to meet up with us along the route. Multiple tours meeting in Kingman would be a site.

Gary and his group will leave Montana morning of 7/8 and spend the night in Yakima. We have room for 6 people. 3 bedrooms, 2 doubles, 2 twins at the house. sofa in the living room for a single.

July 9 travel highway 410 to Mt. Rainier, Seattle area. Do they have time to visit Pikes Place Market, Seattle Space Needle? Spend the night around Sumner/Puyallup.

July 10 Lemay Museums, Museum of Flight, Mt. St Helens, travel South towards Oregon East of Portland.

July 11 Multnomah Falls stop, then highway 26 around Mt. Hood ending up on highway 97 at Madras and spending the night at La Pine Oregon. There is a Best Western there we have stayed at a couple times.

July 12 travel highway 31, then 395 through Susanville, CA, then Reno, NV. We would spend the night at South Lake Tahoe/Carson City. Been to Tahoe, beautiful there.

July 13. I haven't been on a highway between Reno and Vegas, so this will be a new experience. Spend the night in Vegas. Do we want to spend the night at South Point or on the strip (New York, New York) Mandalay Bay, etc.?

July 14 Travel to Kingman AZ, meeting up with the Texas road tour, visiting museums and route 66.

Ken Robb (Texas Road Tour) will be leaving Flagstaff this morning and we should arrive somewhere around Kingman before their group. We will coordinate this with Ken. Travel with the Texas group as we did for 2017.

Mid-Atlantic Road Tour: Led by Steve Gansky and Janet Klug

Steve & Janet Depart Salt Lake City on Thursday July 5th. Travel 3,000 miles in 10 days to LNO.

Stops include some of the best car collections including the Nethercutt, Peterson, & Blackhawk.

National Parks include Grand Teton, Yellowstone, Craters of the Moon, National Volcanic, and Crater Lake.

Museums include National Museum of Wildlife Art, CA State Railroad Museum, and a stop at The Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Drive thru Carmel, Big Sur, & San Luis Obispo on our way to the Ronald Regan Presidential Library.

Our last overnight is in Burbank for those that might want to see Hollywood or LA sights.

Corvettes will be available for rent in Salt Lake for drop off in Las Vegas for a fly drive tour.

Southeast Road Tour: Led by Ron Richardson

The Southeast Tour will meet in Chattanooga, TN July 8th.

Leave morning July 9 going to Popular Bluff, MO.

On the 10th we will be on Route 66, seeing 4 to 8 sights per day with nights in Tulsa, Amarillo, Albuquerque, Winslow, then LNO in Laughlin.

Southern California Road Tour led by Jerry and Pat Louer:

The Southern California Road Tour will be leaving from Ontario, CA on July 13th traveling on interstate and two lane highways through southern California and the deserts of Arizona and Nevada on our way to the Last Night Out.

Rest, site seeing, and lunch stops will be planned ahead of time for our easy two day/one night trip staying overnight in Parker, Arizona.

Our 549 mile trip to the convention will provide the 500 mile award requirement for those that may need it.

Rocky Mountain Road Tour led by Tom and Diane DiRito:

Tom and Diane have planned a five-day tour of approximately 958 miles. The festivities will start with a barbeque on Sunday night, July 8, 2018 at Tom & Diane’s home in Highlands Ranch, CO. A block of rooms at a nearby hotel have been reserved.

The Rocky Mountain Road Tour will depart Highlands Ranch, CO on Monday July 9 traveling to Palisade, Colorado (238 miles).

We’ll spend Tuesday July 10 in Palisade, CO touring the local wineries (many within walking distance of our hotel), driving to nearby Colorado National Monument in Grand Junction, CO or visiting the famous Gateway Automobile Museum in nearby Whitewater, CO.

Wednesday July 11, the longest driving day, will be via a scenic route to Bryce Canyon, Utah (326 miles).

Thursday, July 12 we’ll spend the morning exploring Bryce Canyon National Park, then take a scenic drive to Springdale, Utah in the afternoon (139 miles).

Friday, July 13 we’ll spend the day exploring Zion National Park.

Saturday, July 14 it’s on to our Last Night Out celebration in Laughlin, Nevada (approximately 255 miles).

Saturday, July 14. Lv Flagstaff, travel to LNO at (Laughlin, NV). 180 Miles. Stops on old Rt. 66(exit 139) at Seligman, Peach Spring, Hackberry, Rt. 66 museum in Kingman.

Sunday, July 15. Lv LNO, travel to Las Vegas convention. 94 Miles.

Registration forms received in the Bolton office after June 1 will not be processed and will be returned to the sender. Register online through the Convention Registration page. You can also use the paper form and postal mail. Be sure to use the correct postage to send to Canada.

You must be an NCRS member to register and participate in these Road Tours. Proof of liability insurance must be sent with your registration showing insurance in effect during the tour dates. All cars must be properly registered, licensed and insured to operate on public highways. Hotel and general route information will be sent upon registration. You will receive Road Tour Hotel information in response to your Road Tour registration and payment. You will receive the detailed route information when you join your Road Tour.
